Axel Thesleff is an electronic musician and producer based in Helsinki, Finland. His style is very diverse, ranging from bass heavy bangers to more relaxed and deep tracks, never forgetting about the emotion and story behind each piece of music. His tunes will make subwoofers purr, but also deliver an emotional impact which resonates with your soul.
Axel started releasing electronic music on Soundcloud back at 2010. Only 1 year after the first release Axel was notified as a "Sounclouder of the Day" with his concept album "Waste Land" inspired by poet T.S. Eliot. During that time Axel also started studying Musiology at the University of Helsinki, where he got interested in sound design and electroacoustic music. From 2011 onward, he released couple EP's where he further developed his skills as a music producer as well as a composer.
In 2014 Axel experimented with some eastern vibes and samples from India, which lead to the smash hit "Bad Karma". Bad Karma is already by far the most streamed Youtube song made by Finn. In September 2017 it has got more than 170 million streams on Youtube, 15 million on Spotify and 5,5million on Soundcloud. Bad Karma has also been twice on "BBC's Radio 1" playlist during 2016.
After "Bad Karma" Axel released couple singles and continued his endeavours with mr. Eliot, releasing his musical interpretation of the poem "The Hollow Men". This LP got superb feedback and the listeners are mesmerised by the vibes of it.
His single releases "Done & Reincarnation" in 2016 were a beginning of a new era, which led the way to even more diverse style. Axels productions can make dance floors explode or take you for a journey into the soul, on your home sofa. With songs touching genres like Future Bass, Future Garage, World Bass, Eastern Impacts, Tribal and even Tropical sounds.
Year 2017 began with releasing a Music Video for Bad Karma. Single "Need You" came out on Valentine's Day and reached couple high-end playlist like Chillout Lounge (500k+ followers).
Followed by double single release Your Voice / Like a Lullaby in April and vocal song Fighter made with a
Brit singer-songerwriter Richard Walters - the song got previewed on BBC.
In early July, Axel continued his musical endeavour collaborating with an upcoming Finnish artist Ronja. Free got really good traction on its first week after the release, by getting added on 6 different New Music Friday playlists on Spotify (Finland, Sweden, Norway, Turkey, Italy & Iceland).
